Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI turbo problem
VW Passat turbocharger makes noise, loose engine oil, blue or white smoke is coming
Re: Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI turbo problem
In the workshop the state of the turbocharger can be checked briefly.
Of course, one should begin by checking current data read during a road test
Derived boost pressure control, pressure control solenoid boost, etc
Of course you can check the status of the compressor wheel after dropping air duct.
Once the turbine is a little more difficult, because little can be seen without dismantling the housing.
You can also assess the impeller clearance, but his assessment requires some experience.
Besides, you can check the operation of a relief valve or the variable geometry - if it works smoothly and in a full range of motion.
Next - oiling the compressor or turbine.
The problem is that very often occurs, and not always accompanied by damage to the turbocharger
In fact, only a verification of the turbocharger is its demolition "to smithereens". The problem lies in the fact that when these turbocharger needs to
be regenerated or scrap

Re: Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI turbo problem
I like 1.9 Diesel engines, better than 2.0
Never let me down
I do prefer classic cars
Less stress and cheap to maintain
