I think is more common faults
Turbo vacuum problems, boost sensor problems, damaged intercooler
ECU picking up information about air pressure, temperatures, speed and everything must be precise.
Somethings wrong, "check engine light" come on the dashboard.
This is everything for your "engine safety"

Yes this is true
Check mechanical damages turbo hoses/ pipes
Any splits you must replace
Any turbo leaks from inlet pipe and outlet pipe are dangerous
Turbo bearing getting problem
Clean pipes and replace gaskets

I think the diesel is problematic car
if you must use turbo Diesel car you must look after
any problems stop driving, check oil level
regular drive car on motorway and flush the turbo
flush carbon deposit from turbocharger, check actuator if doesn't work - don't drive
use only professional turbo mechanics to diagnose turbo related problems

blow by is very common in turbo diesels, I would say this is more likely... but its easy to check, remove the turbo intake, line between air filter and turbo if theres oil residue in it, its from blow by, if its clean, might be a turbo seal.

Hi guys,
Im wondering if faulty turbocharger would pass oil externally or just internally as been told?

It all depends on what kind of damage is it. If turbocharger seals were gone then oil will leak on the hot side (exhaust side) and you'll see white smoke coming from the exhaust

You have to look after your car, change oil and filters on time to avoid turbo failure. New cars are made in china in rubbish quality, do not buy Merc or VW or Audi from china.
